BMW Run Efficient Clinics
for Full Marathon Participants
The BMW Run Efficient clinics are designed to provide Full Marathon participants with running related tips and professional advice to help them prepare and train towards achieving a good personal race time.
The clinics are conducted by the Official Training Partner of the marathon, Racers’ Toolbox, and will invite experienced endurance athletes and experts from the field of medicine, physiotherapy and training to share their expert opinion and aid the participants with their preparation.
There will be five clinics in total, having different themes and speakers.

Clinic 1 - Laying a Solid Foundation for Running Success (Fully Registered)

REGISTRATION DETAILS
· Registration to the BMW Run Efficient Clinics for Full Marathon Participants will open to all Full Marathon registrants of SCMS 2011 on 16th August 2011.
· The slots are available on 1st come 1st serve basis through online registration only.
· You would be required to enter you email address (used to register for the marathon) or NRIC / Passport Number/FIN (used to register for the marathon) to login to the clinics registration portal.
· You will be required to enter a new password for the running clinic registration, in order to enable you to login later and register for additional clinics.
· You may select more than one clinic to attend, but can only reserve one slot per clinic.
· The registration fee for each BMW Run Efficient Clinic for Full Marathon Participants are as follows
o TEAM BMW member : S$ 6.00
o Non TEAM BMW members : S$12.00
· Runners who have joined TEAM BMW very recently might not be able to see the discounted price reflected yet during the online registrations. Please allow at least 2 working days after registering for TEAM BMW, for our registration system to be updated and offer you the discounted price.
· TEAM BMW members will be awarded two points to increase their chances of winning a BMW X1, if they register and attend the clinic.
SPEAKERS PROFILES
Adam Jorgensen, The Foot Practice
Adam came to Singapore in 1995 from Brisbane, Australia, to establish the Podiatry service in the National University Hospital. As one of the pioneers of Podiatry in Singapore, Adam was also a founding member of the Podiatry Association (Singapore) and has served several terms as President.
Since 2000, Adam has focused his Podiatry interests in Sports Podiatry. He has had a wealth of experience in the areas of biomechanics, foot running injuries and running shoes. Adam is a member of the Australian Academy of Podiatric Sports Medicine. He has also maintained a close relationship with the Sports Medicine Association (Singapore) having served terms as an executive committee member as well as 2 terms as President in 2006 and 2009.
In 2004, Adam moved into private practice to establish The Foot Practice at Camden Medical Centre. The Foot Practice continues to expand with new centres at the Singapore Sports Medicine Centre in Novena Medical Centre, Body with Soul at Rochester Park established in 2008 and The Osteopathic Centre at Siglap in 2010.
As a former National rugby player, Adam continues to keep fit with regular running and playing cricket.

Andy is the ASICS Runner's World Technical Specialist. He completed his Bachelor of Sport & Outdoor Recreation from Monash University in 2008.
Andy is also the former SAFRA Running Club (Toa Payoh) Chief Trainer (2008/09) and has received SAFRA Running Club's Core Running Team (CRT) awards 2007, 2008 & 2010.
Ben Pulham
Director and Co Founder of Racers’ Toolbox
With over 15 years of endurance sport experience, Ben has been a professional athlete ranked as high as 53rd in the world. He was a member of the highly competitive New Zealand Triathlon Team in 2007 and has competed around the world on numerous occassions in International Triathlon Union (ITU) events – with five podium finishes to date. Ben, who was a member of the New Zealand Olympic trials team in 2007, competed in his first triathlon aged 10.
Using his vast experience and knowledge of elite level racing, Ben has worked with and coached many local and international athletes to help them achieve personal bests. Through Racersʼ Toolbox, he now also supports multinational organizations to improve the health and well being of their employees by implementing strategic programmes that support both talent retention and performance.
Ben, 30, was born in Auckland, New Zealand and has been living and working in Singapore since 2008.

Charlotte Ann Saunders
Racers’ Toolbox Ltd
Charlotte graduated with a Bachelor of Science in 2007, a double major in Human Food and Nutrition and Sport and Exercise Science from Massey University, Auckland, New Zealand. She spent the following year working in private practise Nutrition working along side dietitians and other medical professionals. She then began my work at Les Mils NZ where she assisted in the development of group fitness programmes such as Les Mill’s Body Jam, Body Balance and the like.
Charlotte has thoroughly enjoyed her time working in NZ however she wished to gain further experience abroad, which lead her to Singapore. In 2010 she began her work at Racers’ Toolbox as a health consultant working within a small team to develop the nutritional aspects of their corporate health programme.
She enjoys working with corporate employees on a daily basis as it involves motivating them and assisting them with change. Her clients vary from a wide range of people, from athletes to those with weight management issues.
Jonathon Fong
Director and Co Founder of Racers’ Toolbox
With over 15 years of endurance sports experience, Jonathan, who was Singapore’s National Record Holder and Triathlon Champion between 1996 to 1998, was awarded the Singapore National Olympic Council (SNOC) Meritorious Award over the same period. He was the champion for the 1997 South-East Asian Triathlon and was placed first in the Singapore Biathlon (Open) in 2001. Jonathan has also competed in numerous triathlons from Sarawak to Los Angeles.
Using his experience of elite level racing and his qualifications as a sports scientist, Jonathan has worked with and coached many local and international athletes to help them achieve personal bests. Through Racers’ Toolbox, he now also supports multinational organizations to improve the health and well being of their employees by implementing strategic programmes that support both talent retention and performance.
Jonathan was born in Singapore and has been involved in the triathlon scene since the age of 14.
Dr Steven Tucker
MD (USA), FACP (USA), FAMS (Singapore)
Dr. Steven Tucker is a dedicated physician and endurance athlete. A lifelong competitive runner and swimmer, since moving to Singapore in 2006, Dr. Tucker added cycling and triathlons to his training agenda. In addition to his medical practice, he is a sought after speaker and writer, competitive cyclist and Ironman 70.3 triathlete. More recently, Dr. Tucker co-founded the Singapore-based regionally competitive cycling team, Team Life Extension.
While Dr Tucker is a sub-specialist in the treatment of both breast and prostate cancer, he is also deeply passionate about the prevention of cancer and chronic disease through healthy lifestyle choices. In addition to contemporary medical care and screening, he advocates that simple and smart choices about food, activity (not just recreational sports), spirit, passion, as well as tailored dietary supplements, can have a significant impact on your health and longevity.
In both his oncology and general medicine practice, Dr. Tucker combines state-of-the-art testing and medicine with a common sense approach to chronic disease. For his patients, as well as his teammates, Dr. Tucker encourages the same approach in endurance training, combining athletic testing and data with real world results on the road. A customized and personalized approach is the way Dr. Tucker approaches both illness and wellness.
Dr Tucker evaluates and treats patients for General Medicine, breast cancer, and prostate cancer at his private office at the Novena Specialist Center.
Thaddeus Lawrence
Thaddeus is well known for successfully racing 1,000 kilometres in the hottest, coldest, windiest and driest deserts on earth, a competition rated by TIME magazine as one of its Top Ten Endurance Competitions in the world. Only a select group of individuals worldwide have achieved this remarkable feat in the Sahara, Gobi, Atacama and Antarctica. His efforts have also raised close to $200,000 for charitable organisations.
Thaddeus' sense of gratitude for where he's been and where he is today, inspires him to help others appreciate their own successes to develop stronger resilience. He is always exploring and discovering new tools that can help individuals develop a positive expectancy for their future. Leaders also value his infectious enthusiasm and inexhaustible energy in helping their organisations become more motivated to move forward.
Having appeared on Channel NewsAsia Primetime Morning and 938LIVE The Living Room to share his insights, Thaddeus has also presented 938LIVE’s Positive Business Minutes segment. He has been featured numerous times in newspapers and magazines including The Straits Times, TODAY, The New Paper, Action Asia and NTUC Lifestyle.
