Finisher’s T-shirt Size Selection Exercise FAQ
1. What is this selection exercise for?
This selection exercise entitles Full Marathon and Ekiden participants of the Standard Chartered Marathon Singapore (SCMS) 2011 to a one-to-one exchange of the Finisher’s T-shirt, so as to give these runners, who previously did not manage to receive their Finisher’s T-shirt in the correct size, a one-time opportunity to select the size that best fits them.
2. When will the selection exercise start and end?
The selection exercise will take place from 9.00am on Wednesday, 25 January 2012 to 11.59pm on Wednesday, 8 February 2012.
3. Am I eligible to participate in the selection exercise?
Please note that only participants of the SCMS 2011 who fulfil the following criteria may take part in the selection exercise:
-
Participants must be registered under the Full Marathon or Ekiden race categories
-
Participants must be in possession of an existing SCMS 2011 Finisher’s T-shirt
4. Why is there a deposit fee of S$20 imposed on all participants of the one-to-one exchange of the Finisher’s T-shirt during the selection exercise?
The Organiser has decided to implement a deposit system for the exchange to ensure a more efficient distribution of the newly produced Finisher’s T-shirt.
This is done with the aim to minimise the number of additional Finisher’s T-shirts produced which are uncollected on the day of the exchange. The deposit amount was determined based on the logistical and production costs of each Finisher’s T-shirt.
The deposit is payable via Paypal or credit card, and will be refunded to participants within 14 working days after they have successfully taken part in the exchange.
5. When and where will the one-to-one exchange of the Finisher’s T-shirt take place?
Details of the exchange will be available shortly on this website. Participants who are eligible for the exchange will also be notified of the exchange via SMS and eDM.
Meanwhile, the Organiser seeks the kind patience and understanding of all affected runners on this matter as there would be a turnaround time involved for the production of additional Finisher’s T-shirts, which takes place overseas, in order to facilitate this exchange.
Please rest assured that we are working closely with ASICS, the Official Apparel Sponsor of the SCMS 2011, to facilitate this exchange as soon as possible.
6. What are the criteria for those who wish to participate in the one-to-one exchange of the Finisher’s T-shirt?

8. Will there be separate cuttings for the ladies’ and men’s Finisher’s T-shirts?
The Finisher’s T-shirt is unisex and is only available in one general design.
9. What if all sizes of the Finisher’s T-shirt are too small / large for me?
The sizes specified in the size chart (see Q7) generally cover a huge majority of the participants who are eligible for the one-to-one exchange of the Finisher’s T-shirt.
Unfortunately, there will not be any special arrangements made for participants who do not fit within the catered sizes. These participants are encouraged to choose the next best size that fits them.
10. I am an overseas participant and have already left Singapore after the race. How do I take part in this exchange?
Upon fulfilling all the criteria listed under Q6, overseas participants who have already departed Singapore would need to send their existing Finisher’s T-shirt back to the Organiser via an international postage service.
Overseas participants should send their existing Finisher’s T-shirt in a registered mail package (to be borne by the overseas participant) and should reach the following recipient and address by Thursday, 31 May 2012:
Standard Chartered Marathon Singapore 2011 Organising Committee
Singapore Sports Council
230 Stadium Boulevard, Singapore 397799
For overseas participants only: please click here to download the return form for your completion, after which it should be enclosed within the package to be sent.
Upon receiving the existing Finisher’s T-shirt from the overseas participants, the Organiser will then deliver the new Finisher’s T-shirt of the correct size to these participants in return via an international postage service. And as a form of kind reciprocation, the cost of this service will be borne by the Organiser.
Please note that the refundable S$20 deposit fee* will be credited back to your credit card within 14 working days after we have dispatched your new Finisher’s T-shirt.
*The credited amount will be subjected to fluctuations in currency exchange rates.
11. What documentation items should I produce at the exchange?
All participants who are eligible for the exchange are required to produce the following documentation items upon request from the counter staff:

Passport / National ID / Photo ID (for foreign participants)
-
Existing Finisher’s T-shirt

12. What can I do if I know in advance that I am unavailable during the period of exchange?

Failure to produce any of these documentation items will result in a non-exchange of the Finisher’s T-shirt.
13. What happens if I wish to participate in the exchange but did not even receive my Finisher’s T-shirt in the first place on race day?
All Full Marathon and Ekiden participants would have been issued with a Finisher’s T-shirt upon presenting their race bibs at the Finisher’s T-shirt / Medal Collection Zone at the Padang.
As such, the Organiser would not be able to extend this offer of a one-to-one exchange to Full Marathon and Ekiden participants who do not possess a Finisher’s T-shirt.
14. Will the design of the Finisher’s T-shirt to be issued during the exchange be different from the one issued on race day?
In order to facilitate the exchange in the fastest and best possible way, the Finisher’s T-shirt will only be available in one general design, which is exactly the same as the one issued on race day.
15. Will I get a personalised Finisher’s T-shirt with my race timing printed on it?
No. In order to facilitate the exchange in the fastest and best possible way, the Finisher’s T-shirt will only be available in one general design, which is exactly the same as the one issued on race day.
16. I have already removed the size tag from my Finisher’s T-shirt, which has been washed. Am I still eligible for an exchange?
Participants of the SCMS 2011 who have removed the size tag from their Finisher’s T-shirt and have washed their shirt are still entitled to the one-to-one exchange of the Finisher’s T-shirt upon fulfilling the following criteria:
-
Participants must be registered under the Full Marathon or Ekiden race categories
-
Participants must have successfully taken part in the size selection exercise and paid the deposit fee of S$20
-
Participants must be in possession of an existing SCMS 2011 Finisher’s T-shirt
-
Participants must produce a printed copy of the online confirmation slip issued for the payment of the refundable S$20 deposit fee (Please click here to view a sample of the slip)
17. Can I request for an exchange of my event running singlet at the one-to-one exchange of the Finisher’s T-shirt?
No. This exchange is strictly a one-to-one exchange of the Finisher’s T-shirt for SCMS 2011 Full Marathon and Ekiden participants only. Any requests from runners to exchange their event running singlet will not be entertained.
18. Why are the measurements of the event running singlet different from those of the Finisher’s T-shirt based on the same size?
The event running singlet was designed to provide a relatively tighter fit than the Finisher’s T-shirt. In addition, the event running singlet has different sizes for women and men while the Finisher’s T-shirt is of unisex size.
