Pre-Race Transportation

Participants of the Standard Chartered Marathon Singapore (SCMS) 2011 can look forward to new and improved pre-race transportation options offered by two key public transport providers, in partnership with event organiser Singapore Sports Council.

SMRT Corporation Ltd will provide overnight train services starting from 01:00 am on the North-South East-West Lines (NSEWL) and Circle Line (CCL) for runners and supporters heading to the race on early Sunday morning, 4 December 2011.

Similarly, SBS Transit Ltd, which operates the North-East line (NEL), will also extend its train services overnight from Saturday, 3 December 2011, to Sunday, 4 December 2011 for race participants.

Taking into consideration the early start times and three different start points for the various race categories, these early train services will ensure that race participants are able to get to their respective start points ahead of time to prepare for their race. This convenient arrangement will also serve to replace the shuttle bus services that were in place last year.

Orchard Station, Somerset Station, City Hall Interchange, as well as HarbourFront Station and Esplanade Station, are the closest train stations to the start and finish points. A summary of the nearest train stations is listed below:

• For the NSEWL and CCL services, extended train services will run at a frequency of 15 minutes and operate from 01:00 am to 05:30 am on Sunday.
