What do I do if I do not have an existing bank account?

I have yet to pass my 15th birthday on the event, can I still volunteer?
Yes, you can. The minimum age requirement requires you to be 15 as of 31st December 2016. Thus, not all roles are available for you. We will assess this on a case by case basis.
I do not know what role I want to be. What are the roles?
There are many different type of roles. Click here for the roles.
I wish to get my whole class to volunteer, is there any way I can do that without going through the portal?
Yes, you can. Drop us an email at [email protected] and we will get back to you with registration details. However, all allocation of roles is subject to availability.
I want to be a volunteer leader. What is the criteria?
Yes, you can. Click here for the criteria.
What am I entitled to if I volunteer?
Official event volunteer t-shirt, $20 allowance, electronic certificate of appreciation, CIP hours (if applicable), meals and priceless experience!
When will I be able to get my volunteer allowance?
Token allowance will be given after the end of your duty. You should alert the organiser should you not receive your volunteer allowance on your duty day.
In the case that token allowance will be transferred through your bank account, all bank details must be provided. You should have provided to the organising committee your bank details during registration and approximately 30 working days after the end of your duty. The bank account detail that you have provided should be your own personal account. The organisers will not be responsible if you have not receive your allowance due to inaccurate bank account detail submitted. The duration of transferring of allowance as stated (estimation of 30 days) does not take into consideration if transaction of account is bounced or incorrect bank details provided. Any enquiry after mid-December 2016 will not be entertained.
Are the measurements for the T-shirt sizes in inches or centimetres?
The measurements for the T-shirt sizes are in inches.
How will I be notified of training details?
Information on training dates and related key dates will be sent to you via the email address that you have provided to us.
What do I do if I have keyed in the wrong information during registration?
You may drop us an email at [email protected], and we will update the information accordingly.
When will I receive a confirmation email of roles?
You will receive a confirmation email of roles on the last week of October 2016. For volunteers who did not receive a confirmation email of roles, please drop us an email at [email protected] to check on your registration status.
What do I do if I will like to change my role after receiving email on role confirmation?
You may drop us an email at [email protected] and we will change your role on a case by case basis. There will be NO change of roles after 11th November 2016.
Is it compulsory for all volunteers to attend the training?
Yes! We greatly encourage all volunteer crew to attend the volunteer training.
However, it is compulsory for all selected volunteer leaders to attend the training. For selected volunteer leaders who failed to do so, they will be removed from their leadership role and be re- allocated to volunteer crew role.
When will my volunteer leaders be contacting me?
Your volunteer leaders will be forming communication groups via WhatsApp to stay in touch with you before the event. Please stay in touch with your leader at least two weeks before the event to receive the latest information and updates on the event.
What are the timings for the pre-event days (SCB Pack Collection)?
For SCB Pack Collection, the timing is tentatively from 9am to 6pm.
What are the shift timings for the pre-event days (Race Entry Pack Collection)?
The estimated shift timings are:
AM shift – 7am to 4pm
PM shift – 3pm to 11pm
What are the timings for Kid’s Dash on 3rd Dec 2016?
Depending on the role, volunteers may need to report in the evening or in the night before. (on the night of 2nd December 2016) Details to be confirmed at a later date.
What is the reporting time for event day roles on 4th Dec?
Depending on the role, volunteers may need to report the night before. (on the night of 3rd December), or in the wee hours of 4th December, e.g. 1am.
