Aaron Sng, 39
2hrs 00mins Group Leader

ABOUT ME:
I need to run more to justify getting more running gear!

YEARS RUNNING:
6 Years and more

WHY I CHOOSE TO PACE:
Back as a teenager, I didn’t like running. It was boring and painful. As a working adult though, the opportunities for team sports became much fewer, and I turned to running to stay healthy. Still didn’t like it, but like most people, soon targeted to complete a marathon. That first marathon took over 5 hours, most of it hobbled by cramping. So traumatised after that, I didn’t run a single step for the next 2 months. So why run? I run because it’s one of the healthier addictions. Because I’m fitter now than 10 years ago. Because when injured or sick, I realise how blessed it is to be healthy and able to run.

ABOUT ME:
I’m an easy-going and fun guy! I always believe that fitness is a lifestyle, not just a hobby or something to pass time. I maintain my fitness by working out at the gym and running. I love meeting new people as well.

WHY I CHOOSE TO PACE:
I enjoy pacing people in different races and helping them. It is truly heartwarming when you see these runners make progress because of your pacing efforts, and the person satisfaction achieved from helping them can never be gotten elsewhere! Pacing is also not as easy as most people think, as it is not just about being able to run the targeted distance accurately, but pacers must also be caring, considerate, and motivational!

Terence Teo, 33
Pace Leader

YEARS RUNNING:
8 Years

ABOUT ME:
I started Running Department in 2013 as a no-frills running community in Singapore. Through Running Department, I hope we can reach out and give back to the running community through our running projects and initiatives , bridge relationships between runners & hopefully nurture them into future pacers who can contribute to the pacing community.

WHY I CHOOSE TO PACE:
I have been an active volunteer in the running community since 2008, helping out in run leading and pacing. With each pacing or volunteer project, I get to know new friends and help to bring smiles to runners as we help them cross the finishing line. These are awesome memories that we will always look back, and feel good about the things we can do for the community.
